This service provided by the Information & eGovernment Authority -Directorate of Wireless Licensing, Frequencies & Monitoring allows individuals, businesses and governmental entities to issue wireless telecommunication licenses.

Marine Wireless Communication Licenses which are:

   Required Documents

  1. Fill and upload the application form.
  2. Letter from the applicant requesting a ship station license and importing of wireless equipment, providing details of all equipment & quantity.
  3. Copy of the registration certificate for the ship from the Coast Guard
  4. Copy of the technical specifications of the equipment
  5. Copy of the Declaration of Conformity (DoC)

This license is permit to the maritime ports and coastal marine stations and marine clubs as well as private agencies which provide marine services that companies engaged in offshore operations and has ships operating in Bahrain's territorial waters or in the waters of the Arabian Gulf.

   Important notes

  • Readiness:

All ships stations with a total tonnage of equal or more than 300 tons shall install the Global System of Maritime Distress (GMDSS) and carry a radar device and ships with a total load of 5,000 tons or more shall carry two radars as stipulated in the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) of 1974 and its amendments. The frequencies used for the GMSS shall be as appendix 15 of the Radio Regulations, as well as all ships used for commercial purposes.
