European Union to take part for the first time at the Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2015

Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2015 has attracted, for the first time, a large high-level delegation of nearly 30 experts from the European Union (EU) - chaired by the Ambassador Adam Kulach, representative of European Union and Head of Delegation of the European Union to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar, in conjunction with the EU-GCC Science and Technology International Network (IncoNet GCC2).

 

The Ambassador Adam Kulach, Head of Delegation of the European Union will deliver a keynote address at the Forum’s first-day sessions on March 15th, 2015 at the Isa Cultural Center about the theme of EU Strategy in Smart Cities, together with a group of selected  international prominent officials specialized in this field, such as Mr. John Fredrik Reinfeldt, the Ex-Prime Minister of Sweden, and Managing Directorof EMEA Government Worldwide Public Sector, Microsoft Corporation, and Executive Partner of Gartner.

 

The European Union will hold a closed meeting for the members of the EU-GCC Science and Technology International Network (IncoNet GCC2) during the 2nd day of the forum on March 16th, 2015 at the Bahrain International Circuit.

 

Three representatives of the European Union will deliver a presentation about the success stories about key projects funded by the European Union and the successful experiences in areas covering eGovernance, ICT, initiatives and projects carried out between the European Union and other territories as part of the eGovernment success stories workshop.

 

The delegation members will also organize ‘Horizon 2020 Information Day’ Workshop as platform to showcase the initiative of one of the biggest research and innovation programs ever with nearly €80 billion of funding available over seven years (2014 to 2020), in particular due to the expansion seen by the European Union across the globe. This means that participation is guaranteed for all, regardless of their place of establishment or residence so that audience attain the highest value of benefit of such initiative.

 

The forum this year will comprise 8 workshops held in parallel with Bahrain IT Expo 2015 at the Bahrain International Circuit from 17th to 19th March, organized by eGA in collaboration with the stakeholders from international organizations, local partners in conjunction with local NGOs.
