Foreign Driving License Conversion to Bahraini Driving License Request

Applicant

Visit the General Directorate of Traffic to submit all required documents and information.

General Directorate of Traffic

Ensure all required documents and information are complete. In case the submitted documents and information are incomplete, the application will be rejected and thus returned to the applicant to complete the missing documents and information.

Transfer the applicant to conduct an Optometry test. In case the applicant has failed the Optometry test, the applicant should enhance their vision by wearing optical glasses or lenses.

Upon passing the Optometry test, pay the fees to the respective employee.

Issue the driving training license and provide the applicant with the road traffic code book, driver training record (training notebook).

Set an appointment for the theoretical lecture upon receiving the necessary documents from the General Directorate of Traffic.

Others:

The foreign driving license should be valid. In case the applicant is a citizen of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Countries, the expired driving license will be allowed as long as the expiration period is not more than 6 months. Heavy Truck licenses of the GCC will be exchanged in case the drive is above 25 years old, and is employed as a heavy truck driver.
