Documents legalization

A service offered by Ministry of Foreign Affairs which allow the applicants to legalize a document either with Ordinary authentication, or the apostille. Ordinary authentication: If you need to legalize a document issued by an office in the Kingdom or abroad, this can be done through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of other States concerned abroad. This can be done through missions of the Kingdom of Bahrain abroad, and missions accredited to the Kingdom.Apostille: An Apostille is a certificate issued by a designated authority in a country where the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement for Legalization of Foreign Public Documents , Apostille Convention, is in force. Apostilles authenticate the seals and signatures of officials on public documents such as birth certificates, notarials, court orders, or any other document issued by a public authority, so that they can be recognized in foreign countries that are parties to the Convention.

Service Conditions

  • The document issued in the Kingdom of Bahrain must include a stamp and signature approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • In order to legalize a document originating outside the Kingdom of Bahrain, the applicant is required to legalize it at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the document’s origin country, and then at the commission.

  • Application form for ordinary certification or via an Apostille Certificate
  • Copy of the applicant’s Identity Card and contact number
  • The document to be authenticated (must include a stamp and signature accredited by the competent authority)
