Permit to pre-import pesticides and pest control products that are subject to the Pesticides Law and its bylaws

The service is provided to importers who have the relevant activity in their commercial registration record, in addition to private entities and ministries. Through the service, they obtain a prior import permit that allows the entry of imported pesticides and pest control products into the Kingdom in accordance with the pesticides law and its executive bylaws.

  • Ministerial Resolution No. (88) of 2006 promulgating the executive bylaws for the pesticide system (law) for the GCC countries promulgated by Law No. (37) of 2005
  • Ministerial Resolution No. (127) of 2021 on the conditions and procedures for destroying pesticides.
  • Law No. (37) of year 2005 by approving the pesticide (law) of the GCC countries and its amendments
  • Ministerial Resolution No. (158) of 2021 to form the pesticide registration committee

Service Processes

  • The importer shall submit a request to the Quarantine and Plant Protection Department to get a permit to import pesticides. He / She has to attach the required documents.
  • If the request is approved, the import permit is issued.
  • The permit is reviewed and signed by the Head of the Quarantine and Plant Protection Department.
  • The import permit is issued after being approved by the chairman of the Plant Wealth Department, and handed over to the importer.
  • The import permit is valid for a period of six months or upon importing the pesticides authorized in the permit, whichever is earlier. The permit is valid for one use only and for one shipment only without partition.
